this is a message to a member named contortioniskt as a response to a question from a long time ago. when she bent over (forwards from standing), she found it oddly difficult, despite her extreme flexibility for some reason. the trick to easily, casually (like at school, work, etc.) picking something up off the floor is to point your feet, as you bend forward while standing, outward! i find that if i do not point my feet out while bending forwards, and just point them straight ahead, it creates alot of stress in my glutes,or butt, especially if i am wearing tight jeans. i can't believe i still remember that, it's been years.

i thought of this after watching a yoga video on back flexibility. they said in it that the back is meant to bend, but it is also meant to twist! i have now applied it to my legs. same principle.
